FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I thaw the pie/scone before baking?

For the best results do not allow your frozen pie or scone to thaw before baking.

My pie is runny after I cooked it, what did I do wrong?

Pies need to cool for a few hours after they come out of the oven to allow the filling to set up. Let them sit on a wire cooling rack before cutting them.

Do you use canned fruit fillings?

We always use fresh apples. Our berries & peaches have been individually quick frozen to retain their shape and fresh from the field taste.

Do Sweet Things pies have dairy products?

The Sweet Things pies with dairy products are; Apple Spice w/ crumb topping, Marionberry/Raspberry w/ almond crumb topping, Peach Raspberry Streusel, Pumpkin Pecan and Lemon Cream

How can I get my local market to carry Sweet Things by Julie products?

The best way is for you to request it! Fill out their customer comment card, talk to a manager and give them our contact information. Send us an email as well so we can follow up on your request.

“Julie’s scones are hands-down the best I’ve ever had. They are like fluffy little clouds you get to eat. And best of all, no thawing and you can cook as many or as few as you’d like!”

“It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving at our house without Julie’s pies.”

It doesn't get much sweeter than Julie! She's a fabulous lady who clearly knows her way around a kitchen. Her pastries are among the best I've ever had, my customers ask for her sweet treats by name, and I would argue she makes the best crust in the Gorge. We are honored to serve Sweet things by Julie at Brenna's Mosier Market.

Brenna, Mosier Market

We have been selling Julie’s pies and scones for about 4 years. Julie is easy to work with and responsive to requests for restocking. She is always willing to participate in our store events with a demo of her fabulous homemade pies! Our personal favorites are the marionberry, pumpkin pecan, and chocolate peanut butter.
